NATIONAL EXPRESS EAST ANGLIA is the most useless train company in the uk but from febuary they will be gone replaced by another useless train company. In east anglia we once has a great train service under BRITISH RAIL as the trains were clean and reliable they ran on top now they dont always late or cancelled. br has the blue and white train livery you knew you could trust and rely on BR while you cant with this bunch of idiots. nationalisation is the only choice we have as when british railways came into being in 1948. BRITISH RAIL still exists so lets have this wonderful company back and get rid of these private rubbish train companies.

Having worked on the Railway's as a Ticket Office Clerk returning to BR would simplify all the Clerks jobs greatly and make it easier to fulfil the customers requirements without upsetting them by not being able to get those advertised lower fares cuz they have been sold withn minutes of being placed on the web for sale.
Also it might make it easier for an ex railway worker to return to the job he loved but as he has moved to the other end of the country is finding it next to impossible to crack the first scotrail nut as even though i have applied for only jobs to do with ticketing to which i have over 3 years experience i have found no job after 15 different job applications unless any1 on scotrail reading this site knows how to beat the applicatrion process please bring back british rail so i can return to work on the railways i love but in a part of the country i love aswell

We the people are fed up… sick and tired… and angry at the blatant disregard for what is a vital peaces of, not only economy driving infrastructure but also what made Briton a leader in engineering world… I’m taking about British railways. Disunited, expensive and overcrowded, are once proud railways have been the butt of many jokes, for many years but now as prices reach an all time high we must sit up and say “No more”. As tax payers we pay more then another country to run the network millions depend upon every day… I say twice, because as Sir Roy McNulty’s report shows, government subsidy (tax payers money) has increased in real terms as prices have increased and the dividends of the train operators has increased… at the same time the British network is 30% less efficient than publicly controlled European peers and three times more expensive. So I, and hundreds more are calling for the return of a State own network, ‘British Rail’. BR failed because the governments of the day ran it into the ground, in favour of the car, but as rail passenger numbers increase, and calls for the reopening of closed lines grows action must be taken. The cost would be huge, but it will cost the economy far more in the long term if we allow greedy privet companies to own the network that we use everyday.

Dear Sirs

Basically the fares are going up for one reason. Greed. Why? To suit the shareholders. There is a climate in our Government (of any stripe) to indebt the public through all manner of wastage (overseas aid, the EU, the Olympics, higher VAT, bailing out the banks, etc) This we all know. But when it comes to public transport, the green measures the Government boasts off is belied when rail companies can, for no reason, decide they will increase their fares every New Year. Why? Has the running of the service suddenly become more expensive between Dec 2011 and January 2012? They tell us it is for further investment. What investment do they speak of? At my local station, there is no staff after 11 am. The platforms are ill-maintained, railings everywhere, grafitti, and litter. There is no assistance, no plants, no-one who can advise what is happening at any given time. The only investment I can see is in painting the stations in their company colours. I support you fully against this greed and want the link broken beitween private coprorations and ministerial back-scratching.
Good luck to you.

Hi Mark, Thanks for your comment. I do agree PayPal are evil! We will be looking to move the payment system to something a little more ethical in 2012. Will keep you posted. Best wishes, Ellie
