Celebrating Five Years!

Bring Back British Rail supporters,

This month marks our campaign's fifth anniversary! We have come a long way since our humble beginnings in summer 2009, to what is now a huge network of supporters around the country - over 73,000 on our Facebook page alone!

We are the collective voice of rail passengers and train employees, who are demanding an end to the ridiculous privatised railway system, which is wasting more than £1billion of taxpayers' money each year.

The good news is that politicians are finally starting to listen to us, with Labour announcing the first steps towards public ownership last month. Although we can claim this small victory, we know it does not go far enough. Now is the time to put the pressure on and continue to demand a fully re-unified national rail network, run for people not profit.

If you've not already done so, please sign our petition and read on for other ways to get involved!

Fundraising Appeal

To mark our fifth anniversary, we are launching our first public fundraising appeal, to help us continue to grow our supporter base and popularise the idea of public ownership in the run-up to the General Election next year.

The campaign is currently run on a completely voluntarily basis, so any small contribution will be appreciated. Please follow the link to donate today.

Day of Action for Public Ownership

On Tuesday 19 August, we will find out how much our already over-priced train tickets will increase in the New Year. Bring Back British Rail is joining forces with our friends at We Own It, Action For Rail and the new All on Board campaign to protest against these increases and propose public ownership as the common-sense solution, which could help reduce our ticket prices by up to 20%.

Join us at stations all around the country and at our big demo in central London (location TBC).

All on Board Campaign

All on Board

This summer, our friends at Compass are launching their own campaign for the public ownership of our railways by publishing their All on Board report. Bring Back British Rail will be working closely alongside the All on Board campaign throughout the autumn to create more public debate and support for the public ownership of our railways. Stay tuned for further news...
