Campaign against South West Trains (Stagecoach)

Stagecoach has operated the South West Trains franchise since February 2007. The franchise includes most train services running to and from London Waterloo as well as services on the Isle of Wight. The franchise was originally intended to last for ten years; however, owing to the Department for Transport’s refranchising debacle, Stagecoach was directly awarded an extension to its franchise, which is now due to end in April 2019. Stagecoach also operates the East Midlands Trains franchise, as well as the InterCity West Coast (Virgin Trains) and InterCity East Coast (Virgin Train East Coast) franchises in joint ventures with Virgin Group.

• Do you use the South West Trains service regularly?
• Do you believe it should be returned to public hands as part of a re-unified national rail network run for people not profit?
• Then, why not start a campaign building up to the franchise end in December 2018?

Bring Back British Rail will support you by promoting your campaign’s details on this website and putting you in touch with other local activists via our Facebook, Twitter and Riseup communities. Please get in touch on the email address below!
