Let’s make our rail networks as good as those in Europe and not charge the earth for them. Nationalise.
Thomas Harker, MarlboroughI’m a young guy who can’t drive a car because I have epilepsy. There is no way I will be able to afford the ridiculous rail fares that we have today if I get a job.
Stuart Parker, LiverpoolA national railway system for the people and owned by the people run at cost plus investment.
Mal Kempsell, LiverpoolSNCF in France seems to work well as does DB in Germany. From home to university in Kent I go through five different companies which are never in sync.
Paul Taylor, ManchesterThe reasons that applied at the end of World War Two for the nationalisation of the railways are re-emerging. Bad organisation and duplication are rife.
Isla Browning, EdinburghThe railways should not be run for private profit. The state and its people should benefit from running the railways. We need an improved service.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
