What we collect and why
Bring Back British Rail collects and retains personal data from our supporters for the sole purpose of campaigning for affordable, sustainable, publicly-owned public transport, and for publicly-owned energy with our ‘sister campaign’ Power For The People.
We collect personal data when you:
a) sign the petition and contribute your views via this website,
b) order merchandise or make a donation via this website, or
c) sign one of our petitions hosted by 38 Degrees or another trusted partner organisation.
The personal data we collect and retain is limited to your: name, email address, post code and/or city of residence and any optional comments about the campaign you submit when you sign the petition.
What we make public
If you choose to submit a comment when you sign the petition on this website, it may be published online as part of our archive of your views. If you do not wish to appear in the online archive, please do not submit a comment by this means. Private comments should be sent to the email address below instead.
Likewise, if your comment has been published and you would like it removed, please email the address below and it will be deleted as soon as your request is received.
What we store and delete
The names and email addresses of our supporters are securely stored on our mailing list powered by Riseup. We send all supporters with a legitimate interest in our campaign’s aims, a maximum of five emails per year with details of key activities and developments.
You can remove your personal data from this list at any time, by sending a blank email to: bringbackbritishrail-unsubscribe@lists.riseup.net
If you have any further questions or would like to access any of your personal data which Bring Back British Rail may hold, or have it deleted, please contact campaign coordinator Ellie Harrison on info@bringbackbritishrail.org
