Judith Van Dijkhuizen, CheltenhamSomething that goes across the nation needs to belong to the nation. It was retrograde splitting the railways.
David Collins, Newcastle-upon-TyneIt is about time to take back what was taken away and have it returned to the people.
John Falconer, HuntlyRail travel should be cheap enough to encourage people to use it. This can only happen if the whole system is run on a non-profit basis.
Sophie Bishop, BrightonThe current service is unreliable, overcrowded, over-priced, dirty and overly complex. Public transport is an essential public service. Bring back British Rail.
Laura Blake, StockportI’m paying more and more year on year, yet year on year the service gets worse and worse.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
