All privatisation does is create multimillionaires at taxpayers’ expense. Halting direct services because they encroach on other franchise areas is a disgrace.
These prices are too expensive. We are being made fools of by the rail companies and the government that allows them to continue. It’s pricing people out of London.
Travel by rail has now become too expensive for many people on lower incomes. We now look enviously at other countries’ rail systems that appear to serve the people.
Rail privatisation has been a disaster – the sell-off itself was a complete rip-off and we’ve been ripped off ever since. Huge subsidies, hugely expensive, worse service.
We have an inconsistent rail service which is greatly overpriced.

Privatizing has buggered up the electricity industry, the gas industry, the water industry and the waste disposal industry too. Some things should be considered a service and run to provide just that at an economic cost not a way of milking the end users.
