I say bring back British Rail because all the private companies are robbing everyone – from those who work on the railway to the passengers.

Stuart Raine, WhitchurchWhen will the government see the light? The over-priced, under-resourced privatised rail network needs to be back with the people.
Nathan Halperin, LondonI’m a ThamesLink commuter 5-6 days a week. It’s an utter disgrace of a service we have right now.
Andrew Macleod, Hemel HempsteadRailways should be run by the public for the public, not shareholders, while passengers have to pay high prices just to stand up.
Joseph McLaughlin, CoatbridgeI believe that a healthy democratic nation should own all of its own infrastructure, including Health, Education, Roads, Water and Railways.
Liz Andelin, OtleyIt’s about time it was returned to us. East Coast Rail has proved that it works better than privately-owned.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
