Since privatisation the service has become dreadful. Prices have risen and we don’t have the safety measures expected of a public body.

Ian McKinnon, Newcastle-under-LymeOur publicly-owned rail system was raped by the Tories and sold off to their buddies who’ve just made a total screw-up of the whole affair.
Steve Pilkington, BelperI welcome the chance to add my name to a campaign to return the railways to the public. Let’s run them for the good of the public, not profit for shareholders.
Richard Gulliford, LeedsGive us back our trains at prices we can afford – by reinvesting rather than paying dividends and huge salaries to the fat cats.

Shelley Beckett, South ShieldsYou will put a lot of people out of work and shatter people’s lives. Keep it as East Coast please.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
