Railways need to be in public ownership. We would save one billion a year.
Noel Inge, Harrold, BedsThe current system is uniquely stupid. Dogma should not be the starting point for delivering such a vital public service.
Jackie Ross, WakefieldBring back available, affordable travel for all. Not everyone has a car or can afford one. We all like to get out and about, not just car drivers.
Devon Nance, ManchesterThe best rail service Britain had and it should remain a public service. Privatisation has destroyed the industry.
Sarah Williams, FavershamHere we have HS1, which is great if you want to go to St Pancras, but our other services have been downgraded and, of course, HS costs more.
Trevor Waywell, BedfordLet’s get back to passenger service again, getting away from chaos and utter stupid timetables and confused punters.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
