Public ownership is the way forward.
Julia Hudson, DerehamBring it back now. If fares were cheaper more people would use it. It was built as one railway and should be one railway connection.
Sam NicholA union of passengers and employees would be a far more democratic, direct and better way to run our railways.
Patricia Reed, North ShieldsThe railways were once the envy of the world – now it’s a mess. The pricing strategies make no sense. Plough profits back into British Rail, not shareholders’ pockets.
Peter Critchley, St HelensThe railways are a public good and should be run as such.
Kathleen Hines, WashingtonThis service was much better before being given back to the private sector and it was making a profit.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
