Simon Lowe, GlasgowRail privatisation has been a spectacular failure, benefiting neither passengers nor taxpayers.
Carolyn Eaves, HastingsThomas the Tank Engine would do better. Chris Grayling – for goodness sake, get a grip.
A Donakey, DevonI have put up with appalling service for the last few years on my commute. Shame on these private companies putting profit before passengers.
Christopher Morton, DurhamI am not a believer in nationalisation unless it is an obvious choice. How else can a population which is now so diverse move across the country without cars?
Karen Fletcher, SheffieldThere has not been a privatisation that benefitted anyone but rich friends of the Tories. This is the most blatant leeching of public funds.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
