Bring back British Rail.
Peter Cranmer, DoncasterPrivatisation was a bad idea from the beginning. To attempt to break up a national service and maintain this integration was stupid, ill thought-out and inept.
Andrew Dolan, PeterboroughRail fares increase, subsidies higher than ever, privatisation in its current form is abysmal.
Chrissie Keelan, Preston,We lost a chunk of Britain when the small railway lines and stations were closed, and then some more when what was left was privatised. Put it all back where it belongs.
Malcolm Judd, RomfordWe pay our fares to get somewhere, not to fill directors’ and shareholders’ pockets. Because of high wages and dividends there is no money for improvement works.
Warren Sherwin, BoltonThe highest prices and worst service in Western Europe. It’s time for a change now.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
