Katharine Jones, SwanseaThe chaos of different companies charging different rates and all in it for profit, while being heavily subsidised. It’s crazy. Rail travel should be simple and integrated.
Kenneth Mudd, GuisboroughFollow the East Coast example and make profit for the taxpayer.
Anthony Frewin, St AlbansPrivatisation of the railways was ideology triumphing over common sense.
John Brunton, LondonWhen New Labour welched on its promise to re-nationalise in 1997, I knew something had gone wrong. It’s time to see the railways benefit people again.
Robin Kinrade, MaidstoneThe hotchpotch of private companies and railway track providers etc. is just not working efficiently and travellers are being milked more and more. Public ownership is best.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
