Not everything works better in the private sector!
Matt Deacon, Newcastle-upon-TyneAll we’ve seen over the years of private rail is unjustified delays and cancellations, with crazy prices and an excluding side market of ‘tricks’ to get good prices.
Catherine Markey, CambridgeRail travel should be state-owned so fares remain low, thus car use is reduced and the government is accountable for safety. Profit shouldn’t come into it.
Andrew Day, LondonWhy are we paying taxes? Give back our infrastructure.
Gill Smith, EastchurchYes, nationalise the railways. Bring them back for what they were intended – public transport owned and managed by the people for the people.
Barry O’Toole, LiverpoolPrivate sector vultures have destroyed the railways. We will take them back by force if necessary.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
