Bring it back.
Trevor Barham, LondonI’m old enough to remember when it was that way and better. We need a service to serve us.
Freddy Brown, BristolCertain services do not fit with capitalism. The only successful railways are heavily subsidised. Re-routing this into shareholders’ pockets is wrong and ineffective.
Colin Ride, WakefieldI agree with the idea of a not-for-profit company running BR. DOR has successfully run the East Coast mainline bringing in a return for the taxpayer.
Thomas McCormack, EcclesRe-nationalise the utilities too.
Pauline StephensThe franchise system can only be described as a bad compromise, which is too rigid to be able to meet the demands of customers.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
