Mary Wyburn, AmblesideI want collective ownership of a rail transport system for the benefit of service users, not shareholders.
Eoin Garland, OxfordPut the profit back into the public’s pocket. Bring back British Rail. Scrap HS2 and spend that on giving us a rail network we can be proud of – with branch lines and seats.
Jill Harland, DurhamLet’s put rail back in public ownership and stop private companies profiting from essential services.
Elizabeth Richardson, Milton KeynesBritish Rail wasn’t perfect but at least you understood the ticket pricing and a single was cheaper than a return.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
