Christopher Chatters, NewburyLike all the other privatisations, it costs more and the service is worse.
Stanley Beal, PlymouthIn any other field, the incompetent companies running these lines would have no custom. We can’t go on like this.
Maureen Roe, DerbyIt’s ridiculous to have a situation where, in such a small country, people can’t afford to travel by train and have to travel on congested roads.
Sean Hill, GatesheadWhat are the benefits of privatisation? Profits for foreign companies, confusion on focus within the industry, lack of re-investment, and the trains belonging to the bank.
Moira Uddin, Berwick-upon-TweedI’ve just had the most appalling journey recently, with every leg of it fraught with rail company failings. Please bring back British Rail.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
