Be fair. Bring back British Rail.
Nicky Whittenham, WeymouthI rely on public transport to travel to work and its cost is becoming prohibitive. Something needs to give.
Glenis Singleton, NottinghamWe need public service and amenities to be owned by the public The rich are taking the country’s spoils and leaving the rest of us with the scraps and having to pay for it.
Ian McKay, EdinburghBritish Rail was just so good and integrated. The current system costs more. Trains are far too small except in the South East. Cost is huge compared to BR.
Bob Balfour, LeedsTime to run a railway that’s about the people who use it and not an ideological experiment that has failed. For a British Rail that meets the needs of people the time has come.
Jeremy Hoyte, OswestryCommon good, common sense.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
