Richard WinfieldThe sooner the railways are re-nationalised, the better it will be for all of us – rail users and non-users alike.
Peter Jameson, WallsendMy father was a BR employee for several years and was proud to work for them. Sadly he has passed on now but would be mortified at the greed and ineptitude of today
Emma Kane, StockportIt would be wonderful if Britain was proud again of its rail network and led the world rather than lagged behind. The only way it works is one company i.e.. government
Margaret Thomas, AshingtonCivilised society demands good public services and jobs with fair conditions of service.
Matthew Brigden, CardiffI wasn’t alive when British Rail was around, but everyone I know who was alive tells me that everything was much better than it is now, which isn’t that hard a task.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
