I want the real accountability state ownership brings to our rail network.
Keith Lloyd, NorwichI’m a former career railwayman saddened by what’s been lost in the name of profit.
Peter Latham, Hoyland, BarnsleyExcellent – a publicly owned railway is essential if new towns to accommodate housing need are to be properly planned with new lines where necessary.
Derek Staton, Crouch EndWe have the most expensive and crowded system in Europe. It’s unfair and only benefits the shareholders who abdicate responsibility when there are problems.
Vince Hayes, BedfordIf state railways are viable as a solid, excellent business then I support this campaign – But the old British Rail did not achieve that.
Gareth Davies, SwanseaBring back British Rail. Stop corruption and greed in the privatised sector.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
