Keep British Rail publicly owned.
Alastair Lings, GalashielsIn the past local trains would have waited until the arrival of late-running main line trains, but they don’t in the era of a privatised system.
Susan Garner, PeterboroughOne organisation looking after the whole network for the benefit of the people.
Richard Sharp, PolegateI hope this is not a lost cause. Tories do not want public ownership and Labour did nothing under Blair and Brown, re-letting franchises instead of direct rail control.
Dee Boyle, YorkI am one of many regular passengers who would prefer the rail network in the UK to remain in British hands and not go into the hands of private companies from abroad.
Deirdre Carlisle, DumfriesYes please – a properly joined-up rail network service.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
