British Rail was far better than any other rail company. I started work for them. Regional Railways again was a good company and then things started getting worse.

John Gilfillan, LeedsThe last 20 years have seen the taxpayers’ pounds drained into shareholders’ pockets and fares rise disgracefully. Profit is not the only motive; service enriches us better.

Paul Bower, LondonPassengers are paying higher fares, taxpayers are paying a bigger subsidy to the train operators and we are getting a poor service.
