We were told that privatisation would bring consumer choice and price competition. It hasn’t. It’s more expensive and grossly inefficient. Only large corporations benefit.

Benjamin Wheeler, AmblesideI have to take the train twice a week and I can’t afford these fares. On one of the Trans-Pennine routes the fare is nearly one pound a minute. It’s insane and has to stop.
