Stephen Smith, HawickThere is no need for the profit motive in the rail industry, but a socially-owned network cannot return to the pre-90s. We can learn from the privatisation experiment.
Rex Holt, BradfordI just totally agree with what you say.
James Hetherington, LondonHaving to take a 4 hour coach from London to visit my parents 120 miles away because the train is so expensive! In fact, the train can often be five times pricier.
George McCart, CheltenhamPrivatisation is nothing more than a licence to spend taxpayers’ money on greedy shareholders.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
