We need a railway system run for passengers, not for profit. Also run for environmental reasons.

Andy Broadey, ManchesterI am for an efficient, punctual publicly-run rail service, rather than the monopolies of private service providers we currently have, charging inflated prices.
Jenny Gilbert, WellingtonI’m old enough to remember when using the railways wasn’t a stressful task. There may have been some timing issues, but buying a ticket was so simple back then.
Audaye Elesedy, ExeterSo much of the South West is isolated from rail, meaning that a huge proportion of our 3.5 million people are forced into the car. Public infrastructure can resolve this.
Amy Smith, DartfordGreedy, inefficient and monopolistic. That’s the reality of UK rail companies. Enough is enough. We want regulation and a state investment in our transport.
James Nolan, LiverpoolA fair and cost-effective rail service. That’s all I want.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
