Private companies such as Virgin have been robbing the public for too long.
Current rail transport is complex, profit-driven, with safety loopholes. It should be replaced by a sustainable service offering an alternative to car travel.
Adding to the momentum of re-nationalised rail entities already occurring – we should own our national rail infrastructure as a civic, not private body.
Rail is a natural monopoly and pseudo-competition is a nonsense. Bring back BR.
I am a train driver and believe strongly in re-uniting the railway for the good of all.
