Privatisation has succeeded only in giving us one of the worst rail networks in Europe.
Lee Stevens, PortsmouthGive up this capitalistic idea that the network runs better under private ownership. It’s a joke – overpriced and underinvested.
Jon Cotton, SheffieldThank you so much for setting up this website, and trying to do something about the expensive mess that is today’s rail system in Britain. I will support you all the way.
David Fisher, ReadingI’m a regular ECML passenger – it runs efficiently and makes a profit. So if it ain’t broke why fix it? Re-nationalise the rest and who knows what improvements might follow?
N P Bradley, DevonBritish Rail was cheaper.
Anne Ackroyd, PeterboroughEast Coast is doing really well. Let’s keep it publicly run and integrate the whole network too.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
