Pam McNay, Milton KeynesThe current system doesn’t work for passengers, is more expensive than a state system and is subsidising state railways in other countries. Daft.
Kathleen Hamilton, North BerwickNationalise British Rail.
Callum Thomas, LondonTo continue as we are now is destructive. Good public transport is a necessity. Parliament has yet to appreciate the importance of cheap public transport.
Linda Urquhart, LoughboroughHow are these money-grabbing and subsidised services better than the old British Rail?
Tim Stevens, PeterboroughBR was a nationwide co-ordinated rail system. BR needed much less government subsidy than the current fragmented privatised system. Bring back BR.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
