It’s time for people to take the railways back.
Rolandt Tweehuysen, Kimswerd, NetherlandsThe British privatisation disaster has been copied in various European countries, also in the Netherlands.
Nicholas Hughes, PlymouthI used to love travelling by rail. Now it’s an awful experience. But why is this not the case in the rest of Europe? One word – Privatisation.
Alastair Carr, BostonWe need to bring back British Rail, as Network Rail outsource nearly all of their projects to scrupulous companies like Balfour Beatty and Alstom.
Donald Bladwin, TattershallThe railways were a national asset, but now they are used to finance other countries. The railways of Britain should be for the people.
Praveen Kumar Thampi, Chennai, IndiaThis is highly relevant in India, where the new dispensation is actively promoting privatisation of Indian Railways. Wishing you all the best in your endeavours..

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
