Sandra Lunn, LetchworthWe have nothing to lose and everything to gain by bringing back British Rail. The only people likely to lose are shareholders, not passengers.
Linda Norman, HarpendenThe price of tickets and the excellent service on East Coast Mainline is a model for how we as passengers should be treated.
Phillip Bevin, SurbitonThe idea that essential national infrastructure should be owned by publicly unaccountable overseas private organisations is absurd on a fundamental level.
Stephen NaylorAfter once again seeing train fares rise, and consistently poor, unreliable service, we can’t take it any more. We can barely afford getting to work or eat in the same month.
Cora Lowe, Stockton-on-TeesEast Coast in public hands has given big profits to the government. We should not be giving all the profits to those who are already superrich.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
