We should really do this.
Paul Atkinson, MelbourneBR was stolen from the UK tax payer, and now makes fat cat profit, on the foundation of all the work and tax we paid for many years.
James Wilkinson, DublinMy grandfather worked for British Rail as a train drive and my best childhood memories were on the railways in the north of England. Now they’re in a terrible state.
Paula Du Luc, RedhillThe Conservatives ran down BR to make it look bad, so that Beeching could close it down. Bring back public ownership.
Nigel Brown, PortsmouthNetwork rail is going bust.
Gina Bridgeland, BrighousePrivatisation was a code-word for confiscation of a national asset. I’m not sure I like “nationalisation” – could we substitute “common ownership”?

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
