Privatisation just hasn’t delivered.
Dennis Warwick, Burley-in-WharfedaleI grew up with the Labour Party in the 1940s. We knew what was best for Britain. Public ownership of our railways is still a vital necessity.
Alex Casale, LondonSince this public service was sold off, the taxpayer is still paying large subsidies, even though it has been ‘privatised’.
David Roberts, YorkRe-nationalisation is free at the point of contract renewal, and overall the franchises can make a profit. Keep infrastructure safe from vulture capitalism.
Jo Winship, HullIt used to work, not perfectly, but far better, and cheaper than the current mess.
Chirag Batavia, LondonRail travel should be affordable for ordinary people. No more over-inflation price hikes.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
