I can’t see it happening, but who knows if we can keep up some pressure on the government.

I can’t see it happening, but who knows if we can keep up some pressure on the government.
Linden Ross, DunbarFares too high, fare structure incomprehensible, need to invest if we want public to be greener and use the railways before the car, need to be as efficient as Europe.
Jan Smith, NelsonThere is a crying need to make public transport more affordable. Re-nationalisation of rail is one way to do this.
Stewart Dean, BenfleetRailways are the arteries of the country and should be run as a non profit-making organisation with cheaper fares and better investment. Too much money is leaking out.
Stanley Beal, PlymouthIn any other field, the incompetent companies running these lines would have no custom. We can’t go on like this.
Chris Venables, SheffieldI want the railways to be publicly run for the public good and to cut down on private car and lorry usage.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
