railways have to be in the hands of public not profits going to private companies who run away and don’t reinvest and left with public transport system in a mess.
Re-nationalisation is free at the point of contract renewal, and overall the franchises can make a profit. Keep infrastructure safe from vulture capitalism.
The train service in this country is vastly overpriced, ticketing system labyrinthine, and not fit for purpose.
It could be as good as East Coast trains is, but they’re selling that.
I live on a branch line that was cut under Beeching but could easily be brought back as it still exists. Bring back BR!

Privatizing has buggered up the electricity industry, the gas industry, the water industry and the waste disposal industry too. Some things should be considered a service and run to provide just that at an economic cost not a way of milking the end users.
