Public transport should be publicly owned.
Nicholas Ghost, Newcastle-upon-TyneWe urgently need to bring back a nationalised network to run our railways. We need to cut the private companies and their greed-orientated objectives.
Mark Sharman, Newcastle-upon-TyneYou’ve tried I and it’s failed. Now admit it and return it to state-owned.
Peter Brookings, Milton KeynesRailways should be run as a public service, not for shareholder profit. Get freight off the roads and back on the railway.
Paul Green, OxfordIt’s time the politicians let the railways be run by railwaymen and stop interfering in the day-to-day running of the railways.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
