Jeff Cooper, ChesterfieldPrivatisation has been a disaster for everyone except the train operating companies.
Thomas John Wheeler, DyfedCosts on the railways are out of control and the private operators are making artificial profits paid for by the taxpayer.
G Hanham, Berwick-upon TweedI am old enough to know how good our rail network was when it was a public service and a critical part of our infrastructure. It’s about time we returned to that ethos.
Crispin Howell-Jones, RomfordThe effect of privatising the railways has been that we pay vastly more than we need for our tickets and vastly more to subsidise the companies as well.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
