Michael Spurden, YorkThe privatised fragmentation of British Rail cannot be called other than a total and unmitigated disaster. It has cost us dearly, in money and in lives.
Dave Taylor, ManchesterRailways are a vital service for the country, and must all be in public ownership.
Martin Ashdown, BallaterProfits should be re-invested not go into an individual’s pocket.
Courtney White, LondonRailways should be publicly owned!
Shirley Jones, NorthamptonI understand that even with the pressure of having to prepare for privatisation, British Rail still scored more on performance indicators than current companies. Re-nationalise.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
