Keith Lawson, Newcastle upon TynePrivatisation of the network has been a total failure. The passenger has been failed at every turn, with only the shareholder and management profiting.
Denise Murphy, St AlbansSt Albans passengers never get a morning seat to London.
John Hastie, PrestonI worked for British Rail from 1976. I’m still working in the industry and it’s a wasteful disjointed shambles.
Glyn Scott, CardiffGovernment subsidies are now much higher than before privatisation. It’s daft. The problem is once politicians start running a railway it tends to go downhill.
Adam Sardar, OxfordI just cannot stand the sub-standard service of First Great Western any longer, not whilst they’re being subsidised by the taxpayer but being run for profit.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
