Emma Brown, LondonIt shouldn’t cost £50 for a student to go home and visit his family.
Cyril Fitzgerald, PontypoolThe UK tax payer has subsidised rail companies by £102.68billion since 1985, together with rail fare increases of up to 300% since 2004. It’s a disgrace.
Barry Graham, YorkCritical infra-structure like railways should be owned by the public as in many European countries.
Sean Diamond, LiverpoolRe-nationalisation is the only way forward. A cost-effective and fair system is what’s needed. Bring back British Rail. Privatisation sucks.
Graeme Routledge, TickhillRailway privatisation has been a disaster, and East Coast is doing a fine job. Leave it in the public sector.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
