Tony Goode, Newcastle-upon-TyneFares are ridiculously high compared to other EU states. Ticket pricing is a mess. Why is it cheaper to buy 2 tickets Newcastle-York-Manchester than 1 through ticket?
Margaret McGowan, EdinburghThis is the strangest ‘privatisation’ I’ve ever come across. Taxpayers’ money is given to the private firms running the railways to shore up nice dividend payouts.
Graham Longbottom, St AlbansEnd the privatisation madness. Bring this vital national service back under national control.
Alan Spicer, BodminBritish Rail was better run than all the private rail companies put together. I should know – I have been travelling on them for more than 60 years.
Robert Bailey, BristolIt’s a long time coming.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
