Profit for public services, not shareholders.
Eric Mcrory, BearsdenThe last time the railways were nationalised they were systematically starved of investment. Ensuring that does not happen again will make the re-nationalisation successful.
Graeme Ritchie, CuparAs a former British Rail employee, I see the worst mistake ever was to privatise British Rail.
John Greig, EdinburghNationalise the rail network.
Ian Whitehead, NottinghamThe subsidies the private companies are getting are obscene.
Emma Hock, WakefieldThere is no way in which privatisation of the rail system was a good thing. The demand for profits has led to a service lean on customer service and adequate provision.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
