Neil Sheehan, MerseysideI’m a former rail commuter but I still want to see the return to a nationalised rail industry.
Vince Allen, GatesheadThe division of the railways was real butchery. If in times of crisis such as WW1 or WW2 it was best for the country to have one united railway, then it’s still so right now.
Rob Stephens, NorwichIt’s so disjointed and fragmented. Only fat cat, nameless shareholders benefit, not the paying public. Make it British Rail and bring back the ‘blue & grey’.
Ray Tidd, SouthendThe way things are going with privatisation, there will be no safety left on the railways, with all the job cuts, disasters waiting to happen. I work for them.
Kevin Alderson, Newcastle-upon-TynePrivatisation is a complete rip-off – it’s nothing more than selling to the public what it already owns. It’s time for accountability for public services to be restored.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
