Tim Perry, LondonSNCF, DB, SNCB, rail in Denmark, the Netherlands etc. All work very well, are bang up-to-date, and are cheaper, with plenty of investment and modernisation. Why not BR?

Great to see Liverpool City Region Combined Authority agree plans to take Merseyrail back into public ownership when the Serco/Transport UK contract ends in 2028 👏🚆 But there's still a big loophole in the #RailwaysBill meaning a future Mayor could easily re-privatise it 🤦♂️
