Bradley Reynolds, BirminghamI was born in 1996 so wasn’t there to witness British Rail, but still think it’s a good idea to stop the overpriced complications that we have today.
Raymond Walley, BexhillWe need a unified system that Whitehall does not micromanage.
Simon Harris, MansfieldThey should never have been privatised. It is costing the taxpayer far too much and fares are unacceptably high. We are at the mercy of privateers.
Andy Shaw, WeymouthI left BR in 1993 after 16 years because of privatisation. I’ve watched (from a safe distance) Britain’s railways going downhill ever since.
Curtis Dance, GooleA return ticket to Hull is now £12 off-peak; it’s really terrible. Goole has been cut off from Hull and Doncaster by rail fares.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
