Please bring back the old British Rail system.
Alice Cochrane, BroraBritish Rail was one of the strongest emblems of national identity Britain had. If our country isn’t over by Sept 19, Milliband, bring BR back.
Kathryn Foster, KeighleyWe must have a public railway owned by all of us. It is ours and public ownership means a safer service.
Kevin Humphrey, LancingIt needs to change and has to change. Bring back British Rail for the people.
Ffran JonesAnd we are going nowhere ’til the trains are nationalised!
Teresa Wormald, KnaresboroughThe system requires unification. Trains used to connect with one another but no longer do so. Ticket purchase was much simpler and the ticket was valid for all lines.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
