Natural monopolies shouldn’t be a cash cow for shareholders’ subsided profits, which cost more in real terms than ever did BR for a worse, more expensive service.

Anthony Vann, HolmfirthPrivatisation rarely works. Services best run centrally get broken up and become innately inefficient. Worse, the government tries to absolve itself of responsibility.
