British Rail branch lines are sorely missed by many.
The last time the railways were nationalised they were systematically starved of investment. Ensuring that does not happen again will make the re-nationalisation successful.
Give us back our trains at prices we can afford – by reinvesting rather than paying dividends and huge salaries to the fat cats.
The promise that privatisation would bring lower prices and a better service is as false with rail as with water, energy and, soon, the postal service.
You will put a lot of people out of work and shatter people’s lives. Keep it as East Coast please.

Has the government's decarbonisation policy hit fever point?
Privatizing has buggered up the electricity industry, the gas industry, the water industry and the waste disposal industry too. Some things should be considered a service and run to provide just that at an economic cost not a way of milking the end users.
