Peter Baker, LondonI don’t see how an increasing cost to the taxpayer and passenger, on a monopoly, can be considered acceptable. It strangles the economy if nothing else.
Peter Brookings, Milton KeynesRailways should be run as a public service, not for shareholder profit. Get freight off the roads and back on the railway.
Caz MoweAbout time.
Colin Ure, Houghton-le-SpringIt should not have gone in the first place.
Joe Rus, TrowbridgePlease bring back a decent, nationalised rail service that is accountable to its customers and not to shareholders and profiteering executives.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
