I cannot think of a single reason why it shouldn’t.
Tosh Owen, LeedsWhere is the evidence that private rail companies work better than public? As with many of these projects, it is driven by political and business leaders’ interests.
Kate Wescombe, YorkNational infrastructure shouldn’t be in the hands of people only interested in squeezing money out of people – it should be managed for the common weal, like government.
Alex Mason, WarkworthNational ownership, not private profit. It’s a no-brainer.
Kevin Wheatley, Stockton-on-TeesA recent trip to Munich left me in awe of a brilliant public transport system which is in stark contrast of the poor British standard. You can fly for less over here.
Mavis Burns, BacupBring back sensibility to our railway systems and make it accessible for the poorer citizens of this country. Pensioners I know would love to enjoy days out by train but can’t.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
